简介
Singer/Songwriter Laine toured nationally for 4 years with World Music Band, The Presidents, honing her musical skills with great jazz players and studying ethnomusicology. Playing roughly 300 gigs a year in the early 90's alongside members from Don Cherry's band, she has played in front of crowds ranging from 50 to 50,000, headlining in venues as diverse as the Afrocaribbean Music Festival in Veracruz , Mexico to the Ford Ampitheater in Vail. Her solo project, started in 1999, is more trance pop with a jazz flavor. Her lyrics have been described as "poetic" adding "serious substance" to her songs. Laine has performed for 12 years, playing literally thousands of gigs and guesting on several albums, including Avishai Cohen's 'Lyla" and Alexi Murdochs new album.
