St Urban is a salon series of commissioned music, classic works, and conversation between listeners and performers. Named after the Beaux-Arts building on Central Park where the salons take place, St Urban is a musical parlor for the 21st century. St Urban invites audiences to hear unique programs, extraordinary performances, and investigate musical ideas and inspirations. The series explores the creative arc of music and its relation to other arts through performance and conversation with musicians, visual artists, writers and composers. Each season features a discussion theme, programs that explore that theme, and a newly commissioned work by the composer who inspired that theme
