简介

Paul Greene's fourth album, Reset, reflects his journey, from Olympic athlete to a complete singer-songwriter and father, and covers just as much ground musically. There's the sunny pop of 'Sing Along' to the dirty swamp rock of 'Closest Enemy'; acoustic folk-pop with brass arrangements to the folk-hop of 'Get Over It'; intricate guitar playing to the psychedelic keys of 'Pretty Girls'. You might also notice the odd Oils moment from Rob Hirst and Jim Moginie, who appear on the album. Running through it all is a Nick Drake-like songwriting sensibility and Paul's voice that can evoke Paul Simon and Jeff Buckley. Lyrically, the album covers everything from the isolation of Sydney to the deep connection with a wondrous infant; from the knowledge he can pass on to her to the vacuousness of the pretty set in 'Pretty Girls' - The second single from reset. For all the girls who are sick of guys that find it hard to keep their eyes on your face when they are talking to you; shallow advances from slurring drunks, and bad pick up lines this one's for you. For all the guys that have been sneered at when all you said was "hello", tricked into buying drinks all night, and having to come up with pick up lines this one is for you too. Refreshingly honest, and as catchy as you like, Paul Greene has beautifully summed up the theme underlying everyone's Friday and Saturday nights - A ritual of acceptance and rejection to the sounds of bands, DJ's and clinking glasses, of which we all take part. "Life is just a dance floor, but I made my best decisions standing by the wall holding a beer" Greene's ability to take an everyday occurrence and put a new perspective on it is uncanny. He has gained a strong following of fans around Australia and the world with a relentless touring schedule, and unforgettable live performances. "From rustic folk-pop to unreconstructed rocker; from herbal roots ex-surfer type to intense singer-songwriter." Bernard Zuel Sydney Morning Herald "Peppered with mostly acoustic driven numbers which bop along at their own pace.. You could be forgiven for thinking we may have our own Jack Johnson but Greene is more than that." Daily Telegraph "..Greene's genuine songwriting stands above all else" Newcastle Herald "Paul Greene is growing into one of the best australian singer songwriters" Dig Radio
