简介
This album is dedicated to my Grandmother, Georgea Fletcher who was a singer in St. Louis and Philadelphia in the 20's. The amazing musicians who accompany me on this album are some of the top musicians in Texas and I am very honored to have performed with them. Don Cento produced the album (as well as playing the guitar and singing vocals) and did a lot of the arranging and creative work - this album would never have happened without him (as well as Paul and Dennis). There are many different styles of music on here with the core group of trumpet, guitar, bass and drums being the constant. I chose music that means something to me. I have always loved all different genres of music which shows in the selection of songs for the album. The Astor Piazolla songs remind me of summers in Mexico with my grandmother, mom and sisters. "Georgia" is the song that always reminds me of my grandmother. A long time love interest is the reason for many songs including the writing of the lyrics to Luis Merlin's "Suite del Recuerdo: Evocation" which the composer has so generously let me rename "Remembrance". I remember seeing "Strictly Ballroom" years ago and always loving "Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps". Trade was written after 9/11 when I was living in Lubbock, Texas working on my doctorate degree. And Gota was a song that I heard the Real Group (vocal) perform live at Texas Christian University and felt that it would be a great instrumental piece. I truly hope you enjoy this album as much as I do.
