Pokolgép is a Hungarian Heavy Metal band formed in the early 1980s. They were the first to release a Metal album in Hungary in 1986, called “Totális metal”. As the first representative of this genre, the group became the most popular hungarian heavy metal band of the 80s. Their music also got popular in Scandinavia with their videos featured on North-European TV shows and the band gave several successful concerts in Germany and Holland as well. In 2011 Pokolgép gained international attention again, when their ballad “Hol van a szó” was covered by the swedish band Hammerfall under the title of “Send Me a Sign” on their “Infected” album. It was performed by the singer Joacim Cans in hungarian language as well.

Since 1990 the band has undergone different membership changes before having its current line-up. Even though Pokolgép still was (and is) a very successful live band, there was no album produced for a long time. Their new masterpiece “Metalbomb” is the 20th Pokolgép release and the first studio album since 2007. Also it´s the first studio album with new singer Attila Tóth and their first album on Gegentrend Records and you can be sure this bomb will blast away every fan of traditional Heavy Metal.

The cover artwork has been made by the Hungarian artist Gyula Havancsák, who already worked for bands like Annihilator, Grave Digger or Destruction.
