Down Bad What’s being “down bad?” Being broke, unheard and unsigned? Or how about having all of your studio equipment blazed in flames? Supa, Jr., Cage, Terror aka Cheese and Jack have been through all of the above and more, and used it to their advantage. After marketing the streets with mixtapes, Now, they are set to release their sophomore album, “D.R.U.G.S. 2, Tha Ova Dose” (D**e Records Used To Get Scrila). After the release of “D.R.U.G.S. 1,” legendary Master P became slightly interested as he saw the work ethic of the hungry mc’s. However, not wanting to jump at the first offer, the deal was flushed away. The first single from “Tha Ova Dose” is “Keep Rollin,” which is in rotation at radio stations in Baton Rouge and receiving even more spins in clubs all across Louisiana. “We have a lot of other songs that could go to the radio or in the clubs, but that’s what they want right now so we gonna give it to em’.” As of lately Down Bad has been performing throughout Louisiana to promote their new release and looks forward to traveling across state lines as well. Lil Wayne, Lil Boosie, and UGK are a few artist who they have recently shared the stage along. Representatives from Def Jam, Jive, and Virgin Records were recently impressed by the energy that the five poets brought in a recent live performance. “Tha Ova Dose” was produced entirely by Cage and features Mookie and label mates Casino and King Arthur. At the least, Down Bad looks forward to pushing nothing less than 10,000 units of “D.R.U.G.S. 2” with hopes of receiving a nomination and winning at next year’s Southern Entertainment Awards.
