简介
Broken Vessels is made up of Scott & Lisa Roberts and Elizabeth Ortigo. They travel full time across The US ministering through music and testimony. Scott and Lisa were married January 10, 2009 and they began Broken Vessels in June of that same year. About Scott Scott started playing piano when he was 6 years old. He traveled with his dad's groups; The Journeymen and The Gospel Echos, and sung and played a little keyboard in between the group’s sets. This placed a love for Gospel Music in his heart that would always be there. His family started a group called The Ambassadors when Scott was 11 years old. He sung tenor and played bass guitar for several years until he assumed the pianist role for the group. In 2002 Scott went to Thomasville, AL where he was served as a youth pastor. In 2004, God allowed Scott to join The MaHarreys where he played keyboard and sang lead and harmonies. His time with The MaHarreys brought two top 80 national radio releases in which Scott sung lead vocals; "Did You Forget God Today", and "I've Just Seen the Rock of Ages". Scott now plays piano on every song that Broken Vessels perform on stage. About Lisa When asked when she started singing, Lisa said, "I don't remember not singing...". She honed her skills through vocal schools and God given ability. She has won several trophies, ribbons, medals, certificates, and awards for her talents. In 2001 she performed in "The Nutcracker" on Broadway in New York City. Before moving to Alabama, Lisa was a vocal performance major at Southern Arkansas University. She has taken part in many choirs ranging from 10 to 300 voices. Lisa has attended the Stamps Baxter School of Music for three years where she studied under many of today’s top Gospel Music teachers and performers. Lisa joined Pardoned in 2008. She traveled throughout the South singing lead and harmonies. Lisa resigned her position with Pardoned in late 2008 but not before one of her trips to Alabama introduced her to Scott. After dating for almost a year, the two were married and Lisa moved to Alabama. About Elizabeth Elizabeth Ortigo is the newest member of Broken Vessels. She recently graduated with a Music Performance Degree from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, TX. Elizabeth is Lisa's Cousin. You may have met her Dad, Randy, who plays steel and lead guitars when the group is in the East Texas area, as well as on their recordings. You will enjoy her beautiful voice. It's been said that it's hard to beat family harmony, that theory proves to be correct when You hear the blend of Elizabeth and Lisa's harmonies. Elizabeth is excited about traveling the Country and meeting many new friends. Be sure to come out and see her when Broken Vessels is in Your area. The Testimony Scott was born with a bone disease called osteo genesis imperfecta. This is a bone disease that causes the bones to be very brittle. He spent much of his life with casts on his legs and arms. Many times he was in body casts from his chest to his feet. His first break was when he was 3 weeks old. But through it all, with parents that taught him to trust God in whatever condition or situation. Scott's dad, Jimmy, had the same bone disease, so Scott knew that life could still be wonderful even with difficulties. He realized his need to ask Jesus to be Lord of his life when he was 12 years old, and God completely healed his bones. He's never had another break since that day. God still heals, and Scott wants everyone to know about it. Broken Vessels travels every week testifying of God's healing power. When God healed Scott, He could have made him 6 feet tall, but he chose not to do that. Scott is a little under 4 feet tall, and he walks with a walker that he calls "The ScottRod"... The scars from his life are very evident. He is a broken vessel but has chosen to be a willing vessel. You may not be broken physically where people can see... You may be broken Spiritually, or emotionally. This is sometimes worse than physical pain. But if You'll let God's light shine into Your vessel... That light will shine through the broken places. Anything that You may have been through in Your life is a testimony. Just because You may feel inadiquate to do what God has called You to do, those scars and breaks in Your vessel will just be another avenue for God's light to shine and lead someone Home.
