MAGHNATEES

Maghnatees (Arabic for Magnets) is an electronic-arabian fusion band from Palestine and the Occupied Syrian Golan Heights. With colorful Electro-Sufi melodies driven by Ghassan Birumi's virtuosic electric oud playing and singing, alongside deep, always funky and melodic bass from Shadi Awidat and tasteful, rocksteady drums by Khalil Abu Ein, audiences across Palestine taste freedom when the Maghnatees unleash their harmonic fusion of space and groove. Weaving together infectious rock, reggae, and Middle Eastern rhythms underneath experimental electronic elements, ambient effects and traditional Arabic melodic modes, the Maghnatees music simultaneously takes us deep into their homeland and propels us beyond all barriers.
