Mantrakid began producing electronic and hip hop music in 1997 and for the last 5 years, he’s been heavily involved in the Calgary Hip Hop and Electronic music scenes, producing tracks for artists like Virtue, Planit, Impirical and a full album production credits for Ricca Razor Sharp. Helping run the local Calgary indie label \"Neferiu Records\" has given him a first hand relationship with many musicians within the Calgary scene and he continues to expose and promote others as much as himself via events like the \"Furrowed Brow Ambient Music Festival\", the \"I Heart Alberta Rap\" hip hop festival & through the monthly free album offering available at Neferiu.com - which brings in, on average, 800+ downloads a month. Mantrakid’s latest album \"Palmflowerblack\" is set to release in September ’08 and will feature songs from the recently sold-out ‘Sole Sequence Renaissance’ EP. (including “My Own Opponent”, which receives airplay both within the regular radio schedule as well as during request-based shows on calgary\'s x92.9 radio station).
