简介
In the Winter of 2007, several young men decided to have a go at forming a band, which they named: Dangerously Hot. With the mentorship of Dayton's Dabico Artist Factory, the band had the chance to perform at many music venues around the Dayton area, constantly writing and trying out new material and growing together as a single voice. DH competed well in the 2007 & 2008 Dayton Band Playoffs, advancing into the later rounds and showing well against the eventual winning bands. On Thanksgiving Weekend 2008, the band released its 11-track debut album "Change" with a rollicking "standing-room-only" release party at Dayton's venerable "listening room", the Canal Street Tavern In early 2009, the band consolidated into a quartet. With the Brothers Cox as the firm foundation, and Hill and Marshall committing their diverse creative skills, a tight bond of brotherhood and a love of music has kept this foursome together and strong. While injuries affected the band's playing opportunities throughout 2009, Jack kept busy writing new music and lyrics that the group built into impressive new songs. James too was in songwriting mode, contributing to the eclectic fabric of the band's repertoire. Meanwhile, the band continued to garner interest from a growing number of local rock aficionados and was selected to open the 2010 rock season with a January 1 show that was recognized as a "Best Bet" by activedayton.com. Authors & Audio came into being when the guys decided to re-name the band to reflect their shared commitment to original and authentic new rock music. In the early months of 2010, the band was hard at work preparing for a trip to Nashville to cut an all new 9-track self-titled album at Reel Love Recording Co., with engineer/producer Patrick Himes. The recording session was a transformative experience. With a tight, mature sound well beyond their years, the guys' inaugural Authors & Audio album ranges from classic rock to soulful ballads to driving, eclectic new sounds. Listen carefully and you'll recognize not just guitars, bass and drums, but a Hammond organ, grand piano, mandolin, toy lasers, and yes, even glockenspiel. The new work is an exciting, inventive, musically rich tapestry of sound. With the new album complete, Authors & Audio is ready to gig and looking forward opportunities to perform their work at various venues in southwest Ohio and beyond.
