Danielle grew up in a household filled with the music that her parents blared from a record player on a constant basis. From David Bowie to The Winans, the house was filled with varying genres of music, and Danielle grew to appreciate them all. Having lived all over the world, learning various musical styles was always important. Music became woven into the very fabric of Danielle's life. As Danielle grew older, music became more than just a hobby for her; it became her passion. She decided to make it a lifelong pursuit. From the mini performances in her car seat on family trips, to solos in her bedroom mirror and “live concerts” for family in the living room, her love of music only continued to grow. This love for all things music led her to participate in award winning show, gospel, and concert choirs. Eventually, the musical theatre bug bit, and she excelled there as well, garnering leading roles. Danielle chose to attend Howard University. As a Music Education major with a Vocal Performance minor, Danielle was given leading roles in several musicals, joined the Howard Gospel Choir, and was the first freshman to join the amazing vocal jazz ensemble Afro Blue. While pursuing her degree, Danielle also taught Choir at John Phillip Sousa Middle School. In her sophomore year at Howard, Danielle added a career as a background vocalist for various R&B and Gospel artists. This new aspect of her musical pursuit took her all over the world. From Moscow to Ethiopia; China to LA; Danielle began to fill her passport…and her experiences in the music industry. She has shared the stage with artists such as Bobby McFerrin, Geri Allen, Ben Vereen, Mya, Mario, Kim Burrell, John Mayer, Marvin Hamlisch, Nneena Freelon, The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, Kierra Sheard, Doobie Powell, and various others. Javier Starks fuses clean lyrics with varied vocal melodies to create his unique flow. From intricate double or sometimes even triple entendres, to subtle poems, his range is truly boundless. Though often compared to musicians from HipHop’s “Golden Era”, Javier finds inspiration in every genre of music. As a result his works have found homes in the hearts of many, age is never an issue. Given a chance to reach Baltimore and DC youth in 2005, Javier made a decision to that he’d be the role model that MOST were seeking. Currently he works closely with an extremely talented production team at House Studio DC. His latest project “Faces Of Change” has brought together some of the brightest “acts” in his area. Now aligned with others who share a similar vision, it’s hard to believe such a talent would fall short. Driven, humble and a true student of his craft, we expect many great things from Javier in the days to come.
