简介

Born in La Junta, Colorado, Daniel Rodriguez began his music training at the age of seven. In 1973, he heard a piano recording that would forever influence his life. The pianist on that recording was Dave Pohlson, who was the Crusade Pianist for Evangelist Kenneth Copeland. The following year, the two met and became friends. Dave Pohlson soon became Daniel’s piano instructor and mentor. Much of Daniel’s training in the 1970’s lasted late into the evening. It was during those years he also served as the church pianist at a Spanish Foursquare Church in Willowbrook, California. During his years in school, Daniel played piano for school choirs. He also played trombone and piano for the jazz band. At the age of 15, Daniel was privileged to meet Mr. Arthur Fiedler of the Boston Pops, who turned out to be another positive influence. During his high school years, Daniel was blessed to have Linnie Olson (former Organist for Angelus Temple) as his piano teacher. In 1977, Daniel was invited to play piano for a concert at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles, CA., and with the Kathryn Kuhlman Choir that same year at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Southern California. While attending LIFE Bible College in Los Angeles, Daniel was passed from piano instructor to piano instructor. He was finally sent to Mr. Jim Barnett who formerly served as the Director of Music for entertainer/singer Johnny Matthis and then to LIFE Bible College and The Church on the Way in Van Nuys, CA. Under Jim Barnett, Daniel studied Chopin and other composers. Daniel also studied orchestral composition in Los Angeles and San Diego, and was a piano performance major in California and in Oregon. In 1983, Daniel served as the pianist for Dr. Evelyn Thompson for the afternoon services at Angelus Temple for the afternoon services as well as the evening services at Angelus Auditorium under Pastor Raymundo Diaz. After relocating to Roseburg, Oregon, Daniel continued to study Chopin, Bach and other composers under Ms. Linda Grandholm, who was a sixth generation student of French Composer, Claude DeBussy. From 1987 – 1993, Daniel served as the Director of Music for a Foursquare Church in the San Diego area writing and arranging music for the church orchestra which soon included members of the San Diego Symphony. In 1993, Daniel was invited to play a short private concert on Vladimir Horowitz’ personal piano in San Diego. He piece featured was Chopin’s “Heroic” Polonaise (Opus 53, A-flat major). Throughout the years, Daniel has played in countless venues across the U.S. west coast. Invitations included to play on live radio and television in Los Angeles, CA and Portland, OR. In 2001, Daniel was invited to audition for entertainer/singer Robert Goulet and Mr. Vincent Falcone, former Director of Music for entertainer/singer, Frank Sinatra. Daniel was given strong compliments for his keyboard skills and was invited to play to continue to play in venues in Las Vegas, Nevada; however, due to personal convictions, the invitation was declined. Today, Daniel resides in El Paso, Texas and continues to record his music. Piano and orchestral arrangements in this CD are by Daniel Rodriguez.
