The Twinkle Project is a collaboration between ArinMaya and Blackdaylight, both Chicago natives, both experimental, boundary-busting artists who don't believe in following trends or norms. We both work with children, make things with our hands and create music with our souls, our hearts, our minds, our spirits, the spirits of people who came before us and probably some that are yet to come. We are jazz-fusion, broken-beat, down-tempo, psychodelic, trip-hop, nu-soul, industrial, soundscapey and limitless. Together, we are the A.M. light and in The Twinkle Project, we hope you find yourself in some of the reimagined sounds and lyrics. The most important things for you to know right now are these: 1 - we believe in dreams 2 - we believe in ourselves 3 - we think dreaming begins from childhood, and we made this project to re-activate the dream gene in us all We hope that DJs and other music-makers and manipulators will consider making new versions of these songs and sound offerings - the BPM is listed on the a cappella tracks, and we hope they inspire new sounds and new re-imaginings.
