简介
Bio: I am a native New Yorker. Having many interests as a child, I started playing piano at age 4, at the side of my mother, sister and brother, all of whom played. I had 10 years of classical piano lessons and sung in college chorus, under the direction of Leon Botstein. I, also, play serious percussion and some guitar. I have performed solo and in groups in a number of venues in NYC. At age 14 I started writing poetry, of which I have 5 books. As a deep love and outlet, my poems provide the lyrics for almost all my songs. They are included in the album. My poems/songs reflect my lifelong Search for Truth, about the deepest aspects and questions of my life, who I am, and Life in general, from Love and loss to Hope to the very meaning and purpose of the Universe and of our Existence. This desire to know Truth is a driving force in my life. The Songs: 1. LETTING GO - About exactly that, something that is so difficult, at times, and, yet, so necessary to moving forward in our lives, using the analogy of the ocean to express it. 2. FEEL THE LOVE - About how Love is central to Human existence, from love of the smallest things to love of another, to Cosmic Love, and how Love’s union is beyond our egos, walls and personal constraints. 3. FUTURES UNKNOWN (SELF-ACTUALIZATION) - One of my deepest poem/songs to me. Inspired by Maslow’s Heirarchy of Needs, which describes the sequence of Human Emotional development, with Self-Actualization as the highest point (the fulfillment of our highest potentials ON ALL LEVELS! -which few people ever reach). It portrays some of the roads in my life. 4. HOPES - How, despite all of Life’s harshness, Hope keeps us going. 5. TO CONTEMPLATE MY FATHER’S DEATH - Another of my personal deepest. A number of years ago my father took ill and was admitted to the hospital. For a month he was in. I visited him every day, watching him slowly deteriorate and we didn’t know if he would live or die. I wrote this poem during that month. He died there. A year or two later I wrote this song. 6. TO LOVE AND LOVE - The weekend I buried my father I had a 9 hour date with a woman that changed my life and became one of my deepest relationships. This song is about the hopes and fears of Love.
