Street Dream Records was born on December 10th 2008. This record label was the brainchild of Dwayne Valentine an avid lover of reggae and hip Hop Music. Along with partners Andrew “Binlaw” Suckragh and Ricardo “Scaf B.K.A. Scaffle” White the signature sound for the label (a perfect blend of Hip Hop and Dancehall Reggae) was created. “I feel as if we are creating a new genre of music" they would often quote to people who asked about the style that their music took. In the beginning months of Street Dream Records it was the pure passion for music that existed among the three that kept the Dream alive. “Even now we are still seeking ways in which to improve on our writing, recording and performing skills, it’s a never ending quest but we love the adventure, we are addicted”. The first release for the label “Ghetto Genesis Volume 1” which is being distributed on Cd Baby.com comprises of songs relating to love, heartbreak and social commentary. Ghetto Genesis Volume 2 which is also being distributed by CD Baby.com contains the signature track for the label, which is viewed by the three as the “Anthem” aptly titled “Street Dreaming/Anthem”. This track explores the aspiration of the trio of becoming the absolute greatest in the game. Scaf the perfectionist states, “ this is our first priority everything else comes after”. So far the first attempt by the trio is being distributed by CD Baby.COM with songs listed on iTunes, Rhapsody and Ruckus just to name a few. The Label (Street Dream Records) has since put its mark on its place of birth, spreading its wings across the island, fast becoming a household name in Jamaica and the Caribbean. “We have done collaborations with a few American rappers, these will be out soon”. In addition to these achievements the group continues to lay a foundation for a successful career by implementing groundbreaking strategies for the Jamaican market for e.g. using street teams to get the word out about their latest releases and future moves within the business in an effort to maintain and expand their fan base. Cashbook Clique, which is the body of permanently signed artistes on the SDR Label has been working the streets tirelessly in the form of live performances and “in the street” promotion.
