The year 2020 marks the 250th anniversary of the birthday of composer Ludwig van Beethoven. Thus a new collection has been created in which famous soloists, conductors, orchestras and ensemble "meet" the music of Beethoven. They stayed together for almost four decades, violinists Norbert Brainin and Siegmund Nissel, Peter Schidlof and Martin Lovett and gained world fame under name "Amadeus Quartet". From 1947 until the death of Peter Schidlof in August 1987 the Amadeus Quartet was one of the most prolific Chamber music ensembles worldwide concentrating mostly on the music of the great classical and romantic era: Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Bruckner and Brahms. Critics worldwide praised the beautiful homogenic sound of the Amadeus Quartet and the passionate intensity of interpretation. All tracks on this album (which were recorded between 1957 and 1962) have been carefully remastered in 24 Bit High Definition.
