简介
British Singer Song/writer Glenn Carter`s eagerly awaited new album `Redwood Road` delivers a class act. From across the pond and now settled, here in the US ,glenn is making his mark with this dish of eclectic, well crafted catchy arrangements that are snapshots of personal experiences and life on the road. `Moneytown` and `Change` reveal early Dylan ,stones influences with Glenn`s tasteful slide guitar and passionate almost cynical vocal line, complimented by some great Hammond playing by studio producer, Michael Padilla. With the opening track `you`re the reason why`, dedicated to his father Glenn captures a soulful,Motown, blues feel. Simple and very effective. The title track `Redwood Road` tells of family betrayal and sacrifice as does the eerily spacious `where did all the families go`.The lush string arrangements and acoustic playing on the beautifully penned ballad, `More good than bad`,written for his wife,Pamela, define Glenn Carter`s ability to convey the simple message of hope and love through the song writers craft. The catchy string arrangements on `I don`t care` give this track an almost eighties stamp, with some tasteful sparse guitar playing, again, by the man himself. The catchy `Mr Troubador` .A guitar players bar gig lament with a great 60`s style hook which doesn`t disappoint in the toe tapping department. The bitter sweet `Not for me` displays, again Glenn`s versatility.A foray into acoustic latin territory weaving soft vocal and guitar . The closing track `When you ,I feel` .The differences between two people in love and how they inspire others has a wonderful emotional vocal line fused with great string score and acoustic guitar playing. If this album, like me, has you inspired then future offerings by the talented Glenn Carter ,will be well worth the wait.
