Merely weeks after kicking off her own Kuukou label, Simina Grigoriu doles out her second release, a heavy hitting four-track contribution from the techno ninja high priestess herself.

A bumping bassline introduces Nunchaku, a power infused explosive construction, whose dark and twisted vocals aptly play upon the distorted synth array. Seemingly dialing down the dynamism, Kubotan emerges with an understated melody accented with grim vocals and eerie blips, only to further develop into a relentless groove.

Nora Matisse does a double shift on Kubotan remix duties. On the first instance, Techy Bumpy, she’s injecting dreamy melodic oomph, while keeping the initial percussive line at bay. Meanwhile, her Deep Mix sheds light on the track’s spacious appeal, reflective ambiance through reverberating layers. Enlisting Italian underground producer Barbur for the remix, Nunchaku gets a minimal makeover, rounding up the package. All in all, a compelling set of powerful techno tracks that’s fit for dancefloor purposes only.
