John DiLeo is an accomplished singer/songwriter who is also a talented guitarist, keyboardist and bassist. He has been a performing musician and songwriter since the 1970s, and has led a successful career composing music and producing soundtracks for TV and various media since the 1980s. His music is an interesting mix of diverse influences, from the usual Beatles/Dylan etc., to a wide range of ethnic and esoteric music. His songs tend to run deep in thought and feeling, his voice ranging from screaming blues belting to whispery ethereal, all with thoughtful lyrics and sincere soul. He is also known locally for his tasteful, imaginative guitar work. And his music is intelligent, in the Dylan/Simon tradition. His lyrics are thoughtful and reflective, never insulting his listeners’ intelligence. He is also a part time Professor of Media, teaching sound and music production on the university level.
