the astronaut suit began in 2001 when texas artists jess farr and britton beisenherz began collaborating on songs in britton's newly constructed ramble creek studios. the result was a new sound that emerged as the duo wrote and recorded simultaneously, using the studio itself as an instrument. the product of this collaboration currently includes over thirty recordings, six of which became the bands debut, east of eden e.p.

originally conceived as a full length album, and then as a four song demo, east of eden landed somewhere in between. out of some twenty plus songs recorded over the course of 2002, Jess and Britton selected six pieces that fit together as a whole. the result is a unique collection of original songs with an underlying, unifying spiritual theme.
