The 15 original tracks are a collaboration between Gordon Neal Herman (aka Sir Real) and John A. Munsterman (aka Swami Pastrami) ranging all over the musical spectrum. Don't expect the same old tired beats and loops but rather expect something refreshing and excitingly different. There is no standard label(s) to pigeonhole this type of music. It ranges from progressive rock to classical to jazz to novelty song to spoken word. If you let it, the music will take you on an expansive journey. "Planet Zackyl" is a high flying jam, the first time the two of us had played together since 30 years prior at another jam sesson. No plan or process was involved, just two guys having fun with their instruments in a living room. That was the beginning of 5 years of Sunday afternoons that produced the next 14 tracks. Reminiscent of Afro-pop mixed with early Peter Gabriel, "Yearning" is John's acoustic guitar work over an orchestrated synth pattern. A spoof of spy movies music in general, "Mission:Ridiculous" begins with a customized percussion set created from sampled household items - bowls, pans, lids, etc. The tune evolves into a myriad of multi-tracks with a Crimson/Floyd type vibe. Believe it or not, "Treadmills for Shrimp" is John playing the harmonica riff from the Beatles song "Little Child". "C O I ", four variations on a theme that John composed at age 16 and realized it's final incompleted incarnation at age 61 surviving the death of a studio computer half way through producing that work. Imagine a dark, stormy night in the 1700,s with Dr Bonz, illuminated by lightening flashes, racing against time and the weather. That is the setting for "The Frantic Midnight Ride of Dr Bonz." "Nightmare" could be a sound track for an old Max Fleischer type cartoon. Free form guitar loops without a looping station make up the first half with the dancing skeletons inhabiting the second half. A novelty song," Monty Mental" began life as a joke dance track by Gordon that John morphed into a tribute to Jacob Rodney Cohen (aka Rodney Dangerfield). Celebrity voices impersonated. A different take on the trance dance genre, "Dancing on the Way to Oblivion" will get you out of your seat. (psst) No one's looking... Go bust a move! "King of the Dog Park" can be your soundtrack for the next time you take your dog out. We completed the music for "Omar's Last Camel Ride" at the time of Mr. Sharif passing.
