Abbie Simmons, at the age of 17, can get away with lyrics about our errors being 'clean up-able,' and God being 'on the same team' with us, since many of these phrases were written during her childhood. The soothing vocals draw us in, as she paints a picture of the kind of daddy who wants 'confused, discouraged' children to melt into His lap, while He pulls them close and says, 'I am here.' The catchy melody of 'His Favorite' contrasts its deep, thought-provoking, controversial contents. This EP expresses our full approval by God in Jesus, not in people's opinions, and reminds us that even when our behavior is disappointing, He's still crazy about us.
