Hailing from the dusty streets of Rustenburg, North West, D.EE XCLSV is a rapper/singer who’s quickly gaining the attention of music lovers across the country. Described by many as a musical genius, this artists’ vivid lyrical ability and his talent for making stories come to life through his music is one of the many reasons he is adored by his growing fan base. Inspired by artists such as J.Cole and Kid Ink, his brand of hip hop is characterised by a strong and commanding delivery. Born Didintle Mokhine in 1996, D.EE has always had a love for the art of hip hop and was fascinated by the ability of artists such as Nas to string together words that could captivate one’s heart and mind. It was in 2009 that he too tried his hand in writing music, and he’s been hooked ever since. Before partnering up with artist management company, Punchline Music, D.EE was a member of the Rustenburg-based group S.K.I Life Entertainment with three other musicians. With the group, D.EE has performed on the same stage as a number of major acts in the South African music scene including the likes of K.O, Da LES, Dream Team, DJ Speedsta and AKA. The group were interviewed on 5FM about their projects and have had airplay on various radio stations such as Mafisa FM, VOW FM, Venrap and many more. D.EE was recently casted in the reality TV hip hop show, Vuzu Hustle where he proved to be a hit with fans across the country. D.EE finished in the Top 5 rappers in the country further enhancing his reputation, and this is set to provide an even bigger platform for the rest of 2017. Since appearing on Vuzu Hustle, D.EE has released a collaborative project with Manu WorldStar, Luna Florentino and Tony titled Pissed Off The Neighbours and has been interviewed on major platforms such as YFM, Touch HD, Zkhipani, Massiv Metro, Daily Sun and Times Live. He was also recently featured on DJ Switch's latest single, On The Way, alongside Luna Florentino and Maraza. 2017 has also seen D.EE perform at a number of the country’s biggest venues including performing on the main stage of the biggest hip hop festival on the continent, Back to the City. Flex Life, featuring Kwesta, looks set to be one of the biggest summer tunes to come out of South Africa this year.
