Evangelist Barbara Mayo ordained into the ministry of the Most High God since October 25, 1986. A child of God who loves the Lord and his people with all of her heart. Through obedience to God at one point in her life ministered to those residing in the nursing homes and hospitals. such as Harlem Hospital, Bronx Lebanon, and Creedmoor Mental institution and Beth Israel Rehabilitation Nursing Home. Also in Montefiore Hospital and St. Barnabas Hospital. As the Lord opened the door for his ministry to go forth I would step in. Also by the grace of God I was sent by the Most High to minister at different prisons, such as Rikers, Comstock and Valhalla and was also fortunate to reach out to God’s people through evangelizing when ask to minister at different churches. Everywhere the Lord sent me I’d go. Being a Child of God I find such gratification in pleasing the Lord through reaching out to his people. Also I had the privilege of performing or I’d like to say ministering in Dinner at Grandma’s written by Evern Randolph Gillard. I’ve sang with many Choirs such as Sharon Baptist Church Choir, Solomon Temple Baptist Church Choir, Johnny Brown Mass Choir, The Worship and Praise Mass Choir under the direction of Maharold Peoples and 98.7 Kiss Choir under the direction of Mr. Sean Cort. I’ve also participated in plays such as” Martin Luther King “which was at the Beacon Theater along with the late James Moore. I played in other off Broadway plays such as “All things are possible with Christ” written by Rev. Patricia Reeves. Also “Child” written by Pat Ingram. I’ve also open shows at Madison Square Garden for Jenifer Holiday. I’ve opened along with the Kiss Choir ministered in song at the World Trade Center for Kirk Franklin and Fred Hammond and Yolanda Adams. Also I’ve sang backup for Dorothy Norwood along with Solomon Temple Choir. I also sang with Mt. Gerizim Mass Choir under the direction of Pastor Billy Wayne. I also did Christmas Performances at the mall in 34th Street. I’ve minister vocally in many churches when invited. I also enjoy working with the young people keeping them busy making them use the gifts and their creative talents. Working and writing plays for them to enact or performed. I started a choir in the building where I live, The Lord ordained to to be. To keep the children off of the streets. Even thou they are not still together out of approx. thirty children I can say because of the teaching of Christ through the choir many of them turned out very good hard working young men and women. Not all but a large portion of them I am pleased to say God did his work while using me as a vessel. My new endeavor is to minister to God’s people through cd for God has blessed me to write and sing just to minister to his people in many ways. The title of my new cd is "Praise the Lord". Such songs will help minister and answer questions of life which some can’t seem to understand the answer to at the present time, but through this song ministry will began to understand who can do anything but fail because he holds our tomorrow. If I never make money from this project it’s alright just the thought of God’s gift given to me to help others through song and the fact that they will be sung all over the world not just as a song but as a way of relating to the woes of life. That through these songs there will be offered a way of escape the only way of escape that will come with peace of mind even in the mist of trouble. I have also written a song on the IDon’t Want to Miss Heaven by Maharold People and the Worship and Praise album called He’s the Light. Which is also put in reach to help and minister to God’s people. I’m a mother of four children Lisa Mayo-Vizcarrondo, Keisha Mayo-Alston, Carl Mayo Jr. and Lynn Monique Mayo-Frazier. The proud grandmother of five grand children Darnell Mayo, Danielle Mayo, Jade Mayo , Jorge Mayo-Vizcarrando and Devan Mayo for which I love very much. I am also the mother-in-law of Douglas Frazier, Jorge Vizcarrondo and Allison Alston. Two of my children have their college degrees Keisha has her bachelors and Lynn her Criminal Justice degree. All of my children are employed. My Grandson Darnell is a Morgan State University graduate with his bachelors degree. My granddaughter just graduated from Dodge High School and is now attending Touro College College working toward her teaching degree. My granddaughter Jade is in college working towards her degree. My grandson Jorge Vizcarrondo is now a high school graduate with the option of choosing the college he want to go to or just to get a job instead. and Devan Mayo just made Ten and is on twenty four. "Smile". A future daughter in law Tarsha Bullock for whom i am proud to say daughter. I love her much. I’m a retiree of 26 years and some months working for the New York City Housing Authority. I’ve moved up through the ranks first being employed as a receptionist then an office aide worker then a Housing Teller, a supervising Teller to a Floating Housing Assistant and lastly a Housing Assistant. This job was a real blessing because to deal with the public you help many, many people. Just to listen and reach out from the heart is a wonderful experience. Don’t get me wrong life is not always fair and sometime we hurt but with God in your lives we don’t suffer like others with no hope. But we may suffer but God gives us a certain peace through it all. Why because we believe the word of God that say he will keep us in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on him. May God get the glory out of this Biography!
