Now is the time to arise, “Moses my servant is dead, now therefore arise, cross this Jordan to the land which I am giving you” (Joshua 1:2) John “Jake” Greene, II is an anointed worship leader, musician, and songwriter. A very prophetic minister, God has anointed Jake to interpret messages that He desires to speak to His body into lyrics and melodies. Jake’s heart has never been to simply put out good music, but to make sure that every project he does is a project that is strategically placed in the body of Christ at the right time, for the right purpose. He believes music is a gift that God has given him to prophetically minister to the hearts of all who want to be close to God and live out His purposes for their lives. Simply put, Jake is a worshiper who desires to climb to higher levels of intimacy in God’s presence. Jake has an urban contemporary gospel style blended with classical and soft rock. He has recently released his premier album with his group One Voice entitled “Arise.” This prophetic project, full of exuberant praise, intense warfare, and prophetic worship is blessing the body of Christ and encouraging them to “arise” to their call in God. “After much prayer and study in God’s word,” Jake says, “the Lord began to show me that there are many people in the body of Christ who have an idea of what He is calling them to but because of fear, confusion, or whatever opposition, they were not acting on their faith and moving into God’s purpose for their lives. God then told me that He wanted me to do this project because it would encourage and motivate people to walk in the call that God had for them.” His group, One Voice, is a team of singers and musicians who have hearts to worship God in spirit and truth and desire to lead people into God’s Holy presence. Born and raised in Alexandria, VA., Jake began playing the piano at the age of 5. He began musically accompanying his Sunday School at the age of 7. Four years later, under the mentorship of his father, John Greene I, he began singing in and training choirs. Jake began playing for all of the choirs at his church by the age of 13. Jake received his Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce from the University of Virginia in May 2004. There he served as the director for the Black Voices Gospel choir and as the praise & worship leader for the Impact Movement, a branch of Campus Crusade for Christ Ministries. Shortly after beginning school, God opened many doors of ministry for Jake to lead worship and direct choirs all over the state of Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, Washington, DC., St. Louis, MO., Atlanta, GA., Indianapolis, IN., Los Angeles, CA. and Capetown, South Africa. Currently Jake serves as the Assistant Music Minister and Chief Musician at National Church of God in Ft. Washington, MD. under Pastor Stephen Lowery, Senior Pastor and Minister Rosalind Lynch, Director of Church Music and Worship. He is also currently pursuing a Masters in Theological Studies at the National Bible College and Seminary. Jake’s ultimate desire is to please God with his lifestyle, exemplify Jesus through his witness, and serve the body of Christ by continually creating an atmosphere of worship conducive to allowing all to connect with God.
