This collection features the award-winning Jazz Big Band from Washington State University recorded between 2009 to 2011, directed by Greg Yasinitsky and F. David Snider (track 5), with a special appearance by Tonight Show trombonist and composer Matt Finders. The program also includes The Monkey King by Patrick Sheng and Ozone by Stan Sabourin—both Jazz Big Band members—along withThree Way Stop by Lyn Petersen, Professor at Carroll College, and arrangements of Down by the Riverside and I Got Rhythm?—a unique take on the Gershwin classic—by Brent Edstrom, WSU alum and Professor at Whitworth College. Also featured are compositions and arrangements by Director Yasinitsky.
