"Lost beyond Return" developed many angles of expression throughout the production process including: the life of a soldier, questioning meaning and purpose, along with my personal story. My grandfather, Horton E. Maine, largely influenced the style and mood of this album. He served overseas in the Korean War and eventually wrote and recorded a song titled "Lonely Soldier". I was inspired and decided to pursue a concept centered on the idea of a lonely soldier. The soldier doesn't see the hope of tomorrow and finds himself stuck in a lost state.
