His chief minister told him that it was a lion. Believing it was a good omen, he chose to build a city there and call it Singapura (Lion City). However, lions were not known to have lived on that island. So, was the creature really a lion? Many centuries later, three individuals from that very island came together on 15th September 2008 with a purpose - to share their passion for music. Being inspired by the legend, they call themselves 'The Lion Story.' The band's lead guitarist, Haffiz Hussin, is a graduate from Yamaha Music School where he took formal guitar lessons. Drawing inspiration from rock and blues guitarists such as Jimmie Vaughan, Chuck Berry and Buddy Guy, Haffiz's solos can be heard cutting smoothly through songs like knife through butter. Their drummer, Khair Osman, was a patriotic Regimental Police Officer during his army days and is now marching to the sounds of rock, pounding away like an invasive battalion. Haramain Osman (a.k.a Amin), who is the band's lead vocalist and bassist, studied music production and is a self-professed gear junkie. He is also a music producer / sound engineer in the local music scene and was responsible for helming "The Lion Story EP" where he played an integral role in shaping the sound of the band in the record.
