Giver Taker is a gorgeous album filled with pastoral ballads and warm pop songs that also uses Anjimile’s musical upbringing of gospel choir and African descent. These evocative tracks grapple with everything from sobriety, reconciling trans identity, spirituality, and religious upbringing; and forging gracious new futures that honour complex histories.
