Bernie Nelson's songs have sold over 25 million records. Having mulitiple platinum sales on Randy Travis, Wynonna, Conway Twitty, Colin Raye, Ricky Van Shelton, Chris Ledoux, and Conferate Railroad among others. In 2002 Bernie acheived Million Airplay status on his #1 hit,"Daddy Never Was The Cadillac Kind." Not to mention he's had cuts on artist like , Pam Tillis, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, John Anderson,Kenny Chesney and Trace Atkins. Bernie's compiled both ASCAP and NSAI awards.During his 22 plus years in Nashville he's written with everyone from Garth Brooks to Duane Eddy.He also has the rare distinction of having a Kris Krisofferson cut on the Randy Travis CD Heroes and Friends. Shortly after the the tragic death of Dale Earnhardt he wrote and recorded a tribute song, "The Ride", for Relentless Nashville that earned him heavy praise from the likes of NASCAR veterens such as Darryl Waltrip and many others. All true Dale Earnhart fans will find it a must have once they've heard it. Bernie's "I'm Not Suppose To Be Here" will leave you speechless if not teary-eyed. For you "Dukes of Hazzard" fans check out "The First Time I Saw You" written with Duke star Tom Wopat. Bernie recently sang the "The Star Spangled Banner " at the season opener for Middle Tennessee State University on August 28th.
