GREEN LIGHT GO - KAMUELA KAHOANO UPDATES: 6/20/07 - The Green Light Go CD was nominated for the 2007 30th annual Na Hoku Hanohano Awards in the best rock album category. I, Kamuela Kahoano performed live on stage for the introduction of the Hokus (Hawaii version of the Grammys) with the likes of Marlene Sai, Lahela, Pati, Sean Na'auao, Lehua (from Na Leo Pilimehana), Jack Ofoya, Wendell Ching, Gaylord Hoomalia, Kenneth Makuakane, and Alton. Although I did not take home the award, I'm glad to have had the experience of a nomination. 6/20/07 – Music video for "Don't Know Why" was premiered on channel 8 (KHNL) news in Hawaii and will be available for purchase via filmbaby.com, itunes, borders in Hawaii and several other venues worldwide in August. Video was edited and colorized by Saxon Moen. “Lenny And The SKIM” is almost out of preproduction and will be ready for shooting by early July. “Green Light Go” music video shoot will begin sometime in October for release in December 2007. Green Light Go (vol. 2) is scheduled for release in late October 2007. Tour to NY, Boston, Washington D.C. and L.A. (Cali) is scheduled for September 7th - 26th. ++Concert in Roppongi and Ginza (Japan) added for August 15th and 16th (during Obon). For newly added concerts and performances, check out the myspace calendar, www.myspace.com/glghawaii. Band Bio: 1. Repitore includes several symphonic movements (for full orchestra), choral and chamber works and over 100 fully composed, arranged and cataloged songs of various genres. Band credits include Ano, O-Town, LMNT and Green Light Go. Intro: To whom it may concern: Green Light Go, the CD is a 14 track, 6 year in the making compilation of alternative, rock, emo, pop, island, easy listening, hawaiian and techno songs. All songs (execpt Don't Know Why) were composed, written, performed, arranged, recorded, mixed, and designed by me, Kamuela. The CD contains passages containing Hawaiian and Japanese language. The CD really is fun and from the heart. Ikaika lends his vocal talent toward Don’t Know Why, Lenny And the SKIM, and E Ha’i Ana Wau thereby enabling the Green Light Go sound to stand up to most, if not all professional grade vocals. Ikaika is definitely the real deal, and working with him over the years has been nothing short of soulfully spontaneous and hunbling. The next CD is currently in the works, a solo and chamber acoustic CD for solo uke, guitar and vocal (mostly), although several tracks will have full body. CD release date is October 2007. I have also produced several new and upcoming talents and I hope to continue to produce artists from Hawaii and abroad. The full GLG band currently performs at "Moose's" in Waikiki on Lewers, but that's more of a cover band focus, geared towards the mainland pop crowds and top 40 hits. The full Green Light Go band (4-5 members) can do private parties, weddings whatever, so contact me if you’re interested (kkahoano@yahoo.com). I have a solo show that I put on locally at Local Motion Brew Moon on Kalakaua Ave. in Waikiki. Wednesday nights, 7-9 PM...All ages are welcome and admission is free (tips always welcome also). No two concerts are the same and fellow musicians are always welcome to the stage for collaberation.
