From the humble surroundings of the North West of Manchester, Sunfighter specialise in writing original material that is a little different to the run of the mill material that seems to dominate the music scene these days. Having the advantage of four individual songwriters helps to keep the music fresh, whilst still keeping within, the unwritten law, of maintaining the ideology behind the bands formation, that is, the ability to play as good live as it is in the recording studio. Sunfighter consists of six members with Cat Holden taking care of the vocals, along with her important role of providing lyrics for Dave Fish (rhythm guitar) who provides her with the music. Lead guitar is provided by, original member, Trevor Smith, he also provides some keys along with backing rhythm guitar as well as being principle songwriter, arranger and record producer. Derek Thompson is the man on the drums, he keeps the band in time as well as providing the driving beat, he also chips in with some very original, thought provoking songs. On Bass guitar is Ian Graham, he is very well known beyond his native Bury having played with many bands over the years. Keyboard wizard supreme is Dave Derbyshire, he provides a wealth of experience and is a very talented, and capable musician. These days, it is hard to find a bunch of musicians who, with the exception of an electronic keyboard, use real instruments, with no 'Auto Tune' to be found anywhere, this is very much a 'real' band who enjoy what they do and are dedicated to produce the best quality possible from very limited resources.
