Reiko Fueting's second release on New Focus documents his continued interest in and unique approach to exploring the relationship between temporality and material in his composition. In this collection of works for ensemble and voice, Fueting's frequent use of quotation from older music places his works in a multi-layered dialogue with the contemporary listener experiencing the work to the historical artist and era from which his references are drawn. "Distant Song" features performances by AuditivVocal Dreen, Art d'Echo, loadbang, Byrne:Kozar:Duo, Oerknal, and Damask.
