简介
“We’re waging a war on a culture of emptiness…” …and you will know when this train hits you. Death and Revenge (DNR) is a name, an anomaly, and a band born of conviction and unrest; melding wisdom with anger, loss with love; transcending power and passion, while breathing life into the rootless and detached idea of heart, soul, and musical character. But, what's more captivating is the music itself. A four piece band from Sacramento, California, Death and Revenge was formed in February of 2006. They have since pillaged through North America aboard a musical blitzkrieg armed with four-part vocals with a quality and infectiousness of which you would never expect. This combined with their brutal guitars, thunderous bass and disastrous drums complete the scope. Mixing influences from every avenue imaginable, DNR presents a dramatic, chaotic, and epic sound laced with both heaviness and melody. Thought provoking lyrics are delivered with conviction and passion. Politics, DEATH, love, and REVENGE are common anthems for this generation, and DNR means to be their voice. They are a band with an insatiable appetite for contagious harmony, frenzied yet driven energy, ferociousness and of course, human flesh. Within a matter of months of their formation, they immediately hit the road after the release of their 7 song EP, “Never Bet the Devil Your Head,” which sold an impressive “1500” copies. Wasting no time, they began with a few local shows in May but very quickly moved on to the Vans Warped Tour in July, after a contest win for a single open slot. Shortly after that, they achieved a regular place on the artist roster of the D.I.Y. stage throughout the western United States and soon promoted to the Hot Topic stage throughout Canada. Even with their demanding schedule, DNR remains busy with touring, writing, and promotions, all while building their own professional recording studio in support of local talent, as well as booking and running live shows with their own complete professional live sound set up that rivals those of the most notable venues in the Sacramento area. With more accomplishments achieved in their first year than most bands do in their career, they are still on the warpath with more than enough songs written and prepared for a 2007 release and another national tour in the works. Driven by their unyielding passion for their art and dedication to spreading their musical message to every open mind in the world, DNR is quickly becoming an unstoppable musical force. From the Sleep Train Amphitheater to the Thunderbird Stadium; from a hole-in-the-wall record store more than 500 miles away to the coffee–house acoustic venues back home, they are here with a significance that demands to be heard. "DNR hit the scene with nuclear proportions. With a mix of punk rock/ metal attitude and no tolerance for political correctness, Never Bet the Devil Your Head is a dynamic piece of work from a band that knows how to stand the test of time. From ending to beginning they paint a musical picture like a Frank Miller graphic novel. " -Mark Gillmore, KRXQ 98 Rock "DNR is an amazing combination of punk rock fury, and metalic brutality. Their live show is creative, energetic, and will not disappoint. DNR is the next big thing out of Nor Cal!" -Justin Nordan, Founder Sacshows.com
