简介

Singer/Songwriter George Doran George Doran is foremost a songwriter. He is also an accomplished singer, guitarist/multi-instrumentalist, recording artist, and recording engineer/producer. George is a veteran performer and has done shows in all types of venues ranging from coffee houses, restaurants, pubs, and nightclubs to colleges, outdoor festivals, and concert arenas. His musical influences range widely from Neil Young, Bob Dylan, And Tom Waitts to bluegrass' Seldom Scene, Tony Rice, and Peter Rowan, new age artists such as Paul Winter , to English rockers like The Strawbs and, of course, The Beatles. Even Jimi Hendrix has had a say in George's development. George has been the opening performer for acts such as the Byrds, Emmy Lou Harris , Jonathan Edwards, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Commander Cody, Vasser Clemens, Papa John Creech, Rick Danko, and The Charlie Daniels Band to name a few. George is originally from the Buffalo/Western New York area where he has been presented with several awards recognizing him as the top solo performing artist in the area and has also been inducted into the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame. He now calls the Finger Lakes region of central New York, near Ithaca, his home. George has always performed as a solo act but over the years has also played in bands such as The Two Hills Band, Lost Canyon, and Winterwood. Several years ago George released his first cd “Season for Changes.” On May 15th, 2009 he releases his second album entitled “Dream” which, as does Season for Changes, contains all original compositions. (www.georgedoran.com) On this effort, George sings all of the lead and harmony vocals, plays all the instruments, and has engineered and produced the entire album himself. George's writing style reflects his passion for earth and it's nature, and reveals how that passion is inevitably intertwined with the spiritual, social, and personal growth of each of us, and all of us. His musical style is at once melodic, and large, tender, and small, happy, and sad, compassionate, and angry, satirical, and metaphorical. In other words, George's music, through describing his own journey, holds up a mirror for us and invites us to reflect upon our own life's experience. www.georgedoran.com
