ZIPS033 is brought to us by way of UK producer Burgalar. After a release on Thought Render (NYC) in 2014, he steps up for a four track EP on Zip Sound showcasing this young producer's affinity for classic dubstep sounds. The EP starts off strong with "Glow" a truly eery tune, that sets forth with crescendoing hand drums & muted percussions making way for a dizzying bass-line. Next up is "Rust" a true low end offering, with plenty of mid range attenuation and pulsating reese lines. This track is truly set off by the nasal hand drums and pure energy set forth by this experiment in dub music. "Bright" moves in with shifty bass-lines and sharp panned reggae reminiscent horns over a signature Burgalar groove, vibe's alive with this one. Rounding off the EP is the title track "Paranormal" which foyers into an eastern influenced barrage of string-ed instrumentation and sharp, decisive mid-range bass galore.
