Reconsider Baby is the first song from a project entitled "Under Cover". Reconsider Baby was originally written by Lowell Fulson and has been recorded by numerous artists. This cover is inspired by Eric Clapton's version from the 1994 Album "From the Cradle" , an album which was significant in Matt's development as a musician and audio engineer, and ultimately the album which confirmed his Baptism into the Blues. Matt took great care to put his fingerprint on this arrangement, rather than simply copy the version that inspired him. Preserving the feel of a live band and avoiding the pitfalls of modern production (Autotune, Over-Editing, Etc) was an important consideration in the production. Rather than being released as an album, each of the songs from this project will be individually released, with the full collection available after the release of the individual tracks. "Under Cover" is a project that pays tribute to some of the sounds and styles that have influenced the artist. This project is much more than just an Eric Clapton tribute though, as each of the songs chosen for this project have special significance - representing a variety of substyles that have influenced Matt, including Blues, Folk, Country, Rock, and Pop. Additionally, each of the songs represents an important time in Matt's life or musical development, and all are sentimental favorites. A Custom-Made Studio 63 guitar was used for the lead guitar. This guitar includes Harmonic Designs Humbucking Pickups, and a "Vintage Cooler" Tone Circuit created by Bill Dent. A Matchless Chieftain 2x12 Tube Amp was the primary amp, complimented by a Line 6 Flextone using the "Blackface" model.
