简介
This is the debut album of Mighty Joshua. Joshua has performed as a percussionist for the past 7-8 years with the band Antero and originally had no plans of recording a solo album. Chris "Peanut" Whitley of Stable Roots Productions, Multi- award winning producer, and keyboardist to artist like Corey Harris, Eek-A-Mouse, and Culture to name a few "discovered" Mighty Joshua as a vocalist and encouraged him to write more music with the goal of completing a full length album. Joshua worked nightly writing lyrics to tracks that Peanut sent via e-mail. Title track "Mighty Joshua" and "Locks of Oppression" had already been composed by the band Antero, so Peanut remixed them a bit putting his own touch on them. While Peanut continued to build tracks, Joshua continued working on them sometimes into the early hours of the morning, still having to wake up and go to his day job. After work Joshua would travel 1 hour and 45 minutes to Stable Roots Studios in Waynesboro Va to record. Many artist came together to make this album happen. Some musicians came to the studio to contribute their parts. Corey Harris, Gordan "Saxman" Jones, Jayson Morgan, and Wylie Jones did they're work in studio. With Peanut being an international artist some of the tracks were emailed to musicians in different parts of the world, they're parts completed and sent back to Stable Roots Studios for edit. Within about 10 months the album was being mixed by Peanut and mastered by Ian Hartman. So many people have come together to make this project come to fruition. This project was never something planned by Joshua, but has definitely been one of life's great rewards.
