Autumn Leaves (Appropriation I)
简介
Dead Leaves plays tribute to the Jazz Standard "Autumn Leaves" composed by Joseph Kosma in 1945. The original lyrics were written by Jacques Prévert in French (original French title: "Les Feuilles mortes") meaning "Dead Leaves", and later by Johnny Mercer in English. This interpretation of the Jazz Standard Autumn Leaves is meaningful to Hanwah. At the beginning of her career she would perform it in restaurants accompanied by her father on piano, who taught her jazz. The song itself is a reflection on love lost and regret. Hanwah connects to this seasonal reminder and continues to perform it to this day, no matter the time of year. This compilation is a remix package of an original performance by Hanwah that highlights talent from Southern Africa including pianist, vocalist, producer and composer Emamkay, and producers Pickls and Code XXIV.
