Steve Chavez grew up in a musical family. As a boy he traveled to Mexico with his Father and watched him perform and record mariachi music.

He has received 45 Hispano music awards including 6 Male Vocalist of the Year, and 6 engineer/producer of the year awards from the NM Hispano Music Association, the NM Hispano Entertainers Association, and the NM Latin Music Academy.
