Jeff Franzel is a multi talented songwriter and composer with over 35 years experience in the music business. Jeff began his career as a jazz pianist touring with many groups including the big band legend Les Brown. During that time he accompanied such artists as Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Mel Torme and Bob Hope. He currently is leading his own jazz quintet and has been a Steinway artist for 5 years. Jeff is excited about his first album of original jazz compositions. Since his career has been so successful in songwriting his melodic gift is very much prevalent in his jazz compositions. His compositions are influenced by such artists as Chick Correa, Herbie Hancock and Horace Silver. He is currently touring with the Countrypolitan duets project throughout the US which is an album in which jeff arranged country standards in a jazz style. He recently worked with Phil Ramone accompanying and arranging for a Sinatra type artist named Kevin Ahart. Jeff accompanied and co-wrote A Heart That Will with Kevin that was produced by Elliott Sheiner for an Acura/Panasonic commercial at Air Studios. Jeff has written pop songs for such diverse artists as Dianne Reeves, Josh Groban, Placido, Domingo, Hayley Westenra, Clay Aiken, Shawn Colvin, N'Sync,Taylor Dayne and Raven Simone. He writes in virtually all styles and works with lyricists in all languages. Jeff's songs have been featured in over 20 million platinum albums in the US and other countries. On the US billboard charts Jeff had a #2 pop hit with Don't Rush Me, a top 10 AC hit with You've Got A Way, and a #1 Contemporary Christian song named Love Was Never Mean to Die. Jeff recently had two #1 hits in South Africa. He has had top ten hits in England, Brazil, Australia, Holland, Belgium, Poland and Japan. Jeff has a song that Placido Domingo and Josh Groban recorded with lyrics adapted by Pope John Paul 11.
