简介
Seth Martin has been touring the northwestern United States nonstop since mid-2008, sometimes with a band, often with just a banjo, guitar and his own wits. From cafes to bars to street corners to churches to living rooms, Martin's music has been reaching outward and influencing many lately. True songs about true, and often hard, living. Or, as was recently put: "hope through a minor key." "I found Seth Martin shortly before holy!holy!holy! went on tour to the west coast. On a Monday, he opened the set up for us, the very next day, he not only opened the set, but joined the band. In the lineage of Utah Phillips, Pete Seeger and Ammon Hennacy, Seth has a lot of questions that are worth asking and the voice of an angel with which to ask them." --Michael Franklin, RABBLE RADIO Seth hails from the green hills of Toledo, Washington, under the watchful gazes of Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Rainer, Mt. Adams, Mt. Hood and (when the sky is really clear) the Three Sisters. And his parents: he was homeschooled as a child, and thus enjoyed incredible amounts of time playing outdoors, plunking around on various instruments, drawing, writing stories, reading novels, building forts, going to church, and generally ruling the roost as the oldest of eight children. Seth has been writing songs since he was very young. In Seth's songs, lyrically and musically, two powerful notions come across: the spiritual is physical, and the personal is political. In other words, everything is connected. This means that, among other things, regarding style and subject matter everything is fair game.
