Asita Hamidi`s Bazaar takes you on a journey stretching from the north to the southeast. A repertoire telling timeless tales of modern and archaic worlds narrated by their distinct blend of Scandinavian and oriental roots, a wide-open interest in other cultures, improvisations and a unique set of instruments. Bazaar’s music winds its ways through territories untouched by musical tourism and far away from any form of ethno-kitsch. Intense, sensual and alive, their music is like a collage of time and space and goes unfiltered straight to the heart. In 1996 the Persian harpplayer and singer Asita Hamidi started her band „Bazaar“ in Switzerland. At the same time in Sweden, bassplayer Björn Meyer co-founded the trio „Bazar Blå“. One year later the two met at a Bazaar concert in Zürich and realised that the chosen band-names were just one of many parallels. Triggered by their closely related ways to approach music, sound aesthetic and life, the wish instantly arose to work together and explore new musical worlds. “LIVE” is the 5th release of the band. Brand new compositions, masterly instrumental and vocal performance, heart-melting melodies and an ambiance between oriental bazaar, dreamt away togetherness and European perfectionism let listeners go into raptures. “Hamidi & Meyer - this combination of creative visions has proven to be very fruitful over the years, so also this time.
