Gospel singer-songwriter Jewel Osbourne has established herself as a soulful Contemporary Christian artist. Drawing from her own Christian journey and that of her friends and family, Jewel has penned words of inspiration that soothes the soul and pricks the conscience. “Many focus on the mountain tops of Christianity,” Osbourne says, “but what about the times when you fall flat on your face and it’s the mercy of God that lifts you up?” Thus she has embarked on a mission to encourage those who need to be lifted and remind them that He is still working on us. Jewel Osbourne was born on March 27, 1983 in Kingston, Jamaica to parents Errol Adrian Osbourne; better known as Johnny Osbourne (legendary Reggae and Dancehall Entertainer) and Ann Marie Grant (an artist in her own right). Jewel’s musical background undoubtedly has set her on a course she has gladly embraced. She fondly remembers going to the studio with her dad as young as five (5) years old. She started out her musical journey professionally shortly after joining Christendom when she became an active member of the Kencot Youth Choir. Jewel remembers her signature debut as she led the choir in Whitney Houston’s “I Love the Lord”. Osbourne began writing her own music by age thirteen. Jewel explored her other creative passion when she attended the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts, where she studied Art Education, Graphic Designing among other disciplines. She was an active member of the school community, participating in many extracurricular activities such as volleyball and Key Club. She graduated as the Most Outstanding Art Education student in 2004. Shortly after graduation, Jewel answered the call to be a Visual Arts Teacher at the leading private school in the Turks and Caicos Islands; Maranatha High School. She quickly became integrated in the system contributing to various aspects of the school and church life. While in Turks, Jewel rekindled her passion for singing - ministering at various churches, evangelistic series, concerts and special events across the islands. After three years of service and dedication, Jewel returned to Jamaica with her husband and daughter. The next five years she invested in designing and marketing cultural products for a design studio in Kingston as well as expanding her family. To date, Jewel has released three singles, “Jesus Has Done the Rest”, “Keeper” and “Love Song for Jesus” along with two music videos. She has received support from various radio and television stations across the Caribbean, Canada and United States. There is high anticipating for her debut album, “Jewel – the Project” which will be released in due season. In the meantime she ministers to Christians and non-Christians with the hope of encouraging and drawing all to a closer walk with Jesus Christ. She knows with all her heart that “Jesus Has Done the Rest!”
