BB Seaton legendary musical career began in the early sixties. He grew up listening to groups like the Platters, Drifters, Temptations and the Four Tops. He had his first big hit in Jamaica when teaming up with Delano Stewart and Maurice Roberts to form The "Gaylads". They recorded their first hit single "Lady With The Red Dress" on Clement Dodd's Studio One label in 1961. A series of hits followed including two albums "Soul Beat" and "Gaylads Sing Folks". After ten years of working with companies in Jamaica like Studio One, Tip Top Records, Beverly's Records and Treasure Isle Records as either A&R Producer, Writer, musician and backing vocalist, BB decided to go solo. In 1972 he recorded his first solo single "Accept My Apology" which was an instant hit and there was no turning back from then on. BB's version of Bill Withers "Lean On Me", Persuaders, "Thin Line Between Love & Hate", "Rainbow Love", "Miss My Schooldays", and "My Jamaican Girl" were also hits. His music continues to contribute to the rich legacy of Jamaican Music. Currently, BB has seventeen albums to his credit. "Dancing Shoe" (first reggae album released by Virgin Records), "Thin Line Between Love & Hate", "Colour Is Not The Answer", "I'm Aware Of Love", "BB Sings The Gaylads", "Wish Me Luck", "Just One Moment", "BB Seaton Greatest Hits", "In Control", "Everyday People", "Pleasure & Pain", "Reggae Country Classics", "Unbeaten", "Rootically Yours", "Reggae Land" and his latest "After All This Time" the Anthology. As a Record Producer / Writer, he has had hits like "Laugh It Off" by Phil Francis, "Tonight Is The Night" & "I Must Be Dreaming" by Claudette Miller, "Sweet Sunshine" by Pat Rhoden, "Give Love A Try", "Gave You My Love", Mash Up Illiteracy", "Show Me The Way" by Delroy Wilson,"Swing & Dine", "It Comes & Goes", "Sweet Rose" by The Melodians, "Let Me Go Girl", "People Get Ready" by Slim Smith, "Saddest Moment Of My Life", "Happy Anniversary" by Jimmy London, "Who Really Cares", "Freedom Street", "Say You", "The Girl I Left Behind", "Mr Wind", "Lady With The Starlight", "I Wish It Could Be Peaceful Again", "Feel Like Daniel", "I Remember Someone", "Lucky Me", "Love Come Tumbling Down", "Keep My Love From Fading", "Why Baby Why", "Action Speaks Louder Than Words", "Hallelujah" by Ken Boothe. Throughout his musical career he has written numerous hit songs for Jamaican and International artists like, Ken Boothe, Marcia Griffiths, Dennis Brown, Delroy Wilson, Freddie Mc Gregor, The Chosen Few, Aswad, Beats International, UB40, Jimmy London, The Melodians, The Uniques, Ruddy Thomas, Saint & Campbell, Judy Boucher, Jennifer Laura, Winston Francis, AJ Franklyn, Denzil Dennis, Home T 4, Busty Brown, Tinga Stewart and King Sounds. In his capacity as A & R at Studio One, Tip top Records and Beverly's Records, he auditioned artists like The Heptones, The Melodians, Kingstonians, Lloyd Parks as The Termites, Fredlocks as the Lyrics and introduced Jackie Mittoo to Coxsone at Studio One. He serves as an executive membe and Vice President for the Jamaica Federation of Musicians, served as a member of th Prime Minister's performing Arts and festival awards committee. He received the El Suzie award as best song writer and the Jamaican Cultural Development award, for pioneering Jamaican music as one of Jamaica's most recognized singers and songwriters, the MKB & Denoes & Geddes Award in 1997 for thirty eight years of invaluable contribution to the development and growth of Jamaican music since 1959. He received the Martin's International Reggae & World Music (Hall of Fame / Lifetime Achievement) Award in 2007. His ambition is to write a song that the whole world will sing.
