简介

Sarah Jacob is a Miami-based songwriter who formed the Sarah Jacob Trio with partners Darrell Arnold (guitars) and Fred Napolitano (sax) in 2012. They perform every month at the most celebrated live folk music venue in Miami, the Luna Star Cafe and it is here where they organically arranged all the songs featured on "Somewhere Between Fact & Fiction" through rehearsals and performances. The Trio met and became friends with Jack Shawde and long time guitar player and co-producer of the Diane Ward Band, who helped initiate the production of this album. Thanks Jack. The album takes the Trio to another level. Darrell Arnold who always plays the electric guitar in Trio performances, added vibrant acoustic guitar to the mix, enriching the sound. He also played bass on all songs but one ("Insurmountable" features Matthew Sabatella on bass). Diane Ward, a multifaceted and iconic figure of the South Florida original music scene, added light drums and percussion to all tracks, and on the last song of the album, Jack Shawde plays layered electric guitar on the hauntingly sad song, "Empty". Categorizing "Somewhere Between Fact & Fiction" is a little difficult. It's similar to filling out one of those demographic forms if you are not white, black, Native American or Asian and instead you reluctantly tick "other". So with a quick listen, you may say that the music is relaxing, and categorize it as "easy listening", or you may hear the saxophone and say that it is jazzy, or focus in on the electric guitar and decide it's mainly rock-ballads or listen to the vocals and call it folk music. It's all or none of these, but it does generally move to the beat of Sarah's own drum, which is mellow and light. In other words, none of these songs will accompany you on the dance floor. However, lyrically they could inspire some unusual mental activity. There is no doubt about it, the album is an introspective on the anguish of love in its various stages of joy and despair, and will often surprise with its analogies. "Somewhere Between Fact & Fiction" was produced by Darrell Arnold and Sarah Jacob with the production assistance of Jack Shawde and Luciano Delgado (Looch). It was recorded and mixed at the Miami Beach Recording Studio by Looch.
