Evan MacDonald grew up in Perkinsfield Ontario, near the shores of Georgian Bay. Frequent travels with his father to various arenas across the province required a good soundtrack. These excursions exposed Evan to various forms of music from Jazz, Soul, Swing, Motown, Reggae, Folk, Celtic, Post Modern Baroque Surf Pop, and Rock and Roll. These artists would have a strong influence on his musical development and writing style. Evan began playing drums at age 10. At 16, he fixed up an old Suzuki acoustic violin guitar and flipped the strings around so it could be played left handed. Evan would learn chording from his Uncle Mike and high school band mates in Mac Attack. Evan began writing songs influenced heavily by geography, family stories, hitchhiking, girls, and the importance of a rotary phone. MacDonald took his music along with him to Peterborough where the dorm room was often utilized as a place to practice his guitar playing, writing, singing and sometimes studying. Evan pursued a career in the Environmental field, but played music whenever possible with the band All Fruits Ripe in Peterborough. Evan has been working tirelessly with producer Jamie Williams, on his first full length album at Maple Leaf Sound in Elmvale, Ontario (Brain Trottier recorded here #score). Evan will be promoting his new album in the spring of 2015 playing various shows, underpasses, street corners, docks, and festivals across central Ontario this Summer.
