简介
Many would describe her as an old soul. Her heart and spirit live out on both sleeves and when she decides to touch, she heals. Dara Carter seeks to usher in the new wave of being -- the state of humanity that we all secretly and eagerly yearn for. For too long the fibers of humanity have been torn apart with divisiveness, bitterness, ill-will, and isolation. We use our dissimilarities as shields in this lifelong battle against every other living thing. This is not who we were designed to be. We were designed to be connected. We were designed to feel. To empathize. To nurture. Dara Carter's music forces you to feel. It makes you succumb to the energy inside of yourself. Dara Carter has always been drawn to music. Musical genius, with a heavy emphasis on Stevie Wonder, Prince. was the soundtrack of her childhood. "Hoopla", an album created by her first influence and mentor, Speech of Arrested Development was her introduction into her infatuation with music. She began her classical training in piano at the age of three. From there she blossomed into a singer-songwriter at a very young age. At twelve, she began performing around the city of Atlanta with some of the great jazz musicians of her parent's era such as Joey Sommerville, Phil Davis, Julie Dexter, and more. She also began working with the "Mama Jan", world renowned vocal coach. She had the opportunity at fifteen to perform at the Apollo Theater in New York, New York twice and from there has been performing around the nation. Dara Carter aims to spread her unique style of music to as many countries as she can travel to in her lifetime. She wants her music to do work in people's hearts and ultimately help usher in a shift in our humanity. The Gem In I album gives you a microscope to hold up to your own self-journey. Who are you? How do you show up in the world? It is not what type of journey you went though that matters, but the emotions you felt on the way, the lessons that you took from the journey, and who you became after the journey. The Gem In I album represents a journey of self-immersion. The "gem" represents the essence (soul, spirit, energy, name it what you will) inside of each of us.
