His father is the well known poet, writer, and art director, Ernst (Syto) Cavé and his mother is the late Yanick Jean Cavé, actress, writer, editor, and painter. Alan spent most of his summers in Haiti. During that time, he often accompanied his father Syto Cavé, on tours in the Caribbean Islands (Martinique, Guadeloupe, St. Lucia), France, and Canada. Surrounded by people who loved the arts, and born to celebrities, Alan had no choice but to follow in their footsteps. Beginning Alan first gained international recognition in 1984, while on tour with his father, one of the performers scheduled to sing La Personne” fell ill, Alan was asked if he could step in and sing the song. He replied “yes!” Syto Cavé describes Alan’s performance as “soulful and heartfelt,” as he astonished the audience. Alan states that the “cheers and standing ovation gave him the desire to sing and pursue a musical career.” By the end of that summer of year, Alan Cavé became a household name in the French Caribbean. By mid 1987, a long time friend, Wydens Joseph who was with the group Papash told Alan that a new group ZIN was looking for a lead singer. Cavé auditioned for the lead. The band leader (Maestro), Alex Abellard, repeatedly said that when Alan auditioned, he knew that his search for a lead singer was over; and he found the voice he wanted on his side and not against him or the Band ZIN. By late 1987, the group was complete and they released their debut album Fe’m Vole in 1988. Cavé attended Jamaica High School in Springfield Gardens, New York, but later decided to take the GED which he past and obtained his degree. He later attended Five Town College in Dix Hills NY, where he majored in Performance Music. However, with ZIN’s heavy schedule and traveling, Cavé decided to pursue his singing career. TODAY Years later, the songwriting skills of Eddy St. Vil (co-owner and guitarist), Maestro, and ZIN and its 11 band members continue to hypnotize the public with sweet ballads, and Haitian Kompa grooves mixed with the sound of Reggae, R&B, and Zouk. ZIN has opened the door to what is known in the Haitian Music Industry (HMI) as the New Generation of Kompa. Their enormous success of the band earned them the name The Hit Music Factory.” Alan Cavé writes and co-writes many of the lyrics listed on ZIN’s entire album. As a member of ZIN, Cavé developed into a major celebrity in his own right, as well as gaining respect as a musician. Alan’s seductive voice is a big part of that success. His musical rendition touches your soul, soothes your heart, and you only yearn for more. He is a prolific songwriter, with a catalogue of songs and unreleased recordings in English, French, and Creole. When asked what inspires him, he answers simply: “Love, Life, and People.” Today he is one of the most sought after performer in the HMI. He has performed and collaborated with the biggest names in from Haiti, Martinique, and Guadeloupe; his list consists of artist like N’Jie, Tanya St. Val, Malavoi, and the list goes on. The ZIN team assisted Alan Cave with his solo project. The assistance of people like Alex Abellard, Eddy St. Vil and Salazar Jn. Baptiste, Alan Cavé released his First solo album, Lage’m. The album, debuted in the number one position on the HMI industry. The album consist of award winner songs such as Nan Nannan and Ma Rose Cavé released his second solo album; Se Pa Pou Da” in 2001, it to was an enormous success. The album transcends the barriers of language and cultural sound, the melodies literally touches everyone from all ethnic background Japan, Africa, to South America. All who listen to the album became immediate fans of Alan Cavé. In 2007 Cavé released his single De La Tete au Pied in 2007 to radio stations. The single peaked at number one for weeks. The album was released mid-2007 and again broke all boundaries. Apart from being a talented and generous person, Alan is known for his humility. Fame has not changed him; the public will never get anything but the best from him that is why he loved and respected by all. In 2002, Alan Cavé along with friends Emmanuel Thadal and Pierre Michel Theodat ventured into the club scene by opening Club A. that was located on 147th Street in Jamaica New York. The nightclub entertained up to 800 people per night. The VIP hosted up to 200 people per night. Club A became a home base performance location for ZIN. Cavé promoted other performing bands such as Carimi, Nu Look, T-Vice, Zenglen, Djakout, Beanie Man, Daan Jr., Lady Raw, among others. The nightclub was closed the spring of 2006. Cavé launched Arts and Cultural Records and Distribution (AC) located in Central Islip, New York. The logo is familiar trademark in the HMI industry. AC is the official distributor for all of ZINs prior CDs, Derry Delinois, Jhon Clarke, Tanya St. Val 2006, AC is the co-owner of New York base group Tempo formed 2008; and co-owner & official distributor for upcoming Miami based duo Vilx and Yung Rich, R&B Rapper (CD expected release in the fall of 2009). In 2008 Alan Cavé and Syto Cavé created Couleur Cavé which features the Stand up recitals and poems written by Syto and Alan sings up to 15 selected songs from his CDs.
