Ashwin Palaparthi composed this song when he overheard a group of young girls eating pani-puri (a mouth teasing snack in India) and discussing/arguing the likelihood of raining near his home in Hyderabad. The tune captures all the emotions of a long awaited rain as that of a metaphor to a long awaited lover to return. Ashwin approaced a budding lyricist Saba Yunus from Kanpur, India to pen the lyrics and then went to Mumbai where he met Paul from EmSquare Studios. He introduced Tamara Menon (a budding singer in Bollywood, originally from Dubai) to Ashwin. The song was then recorded and a video was uploaded to YouTube and started to receive good appreciation from listeners of different genres.
